To us, education is about human rights and social justice and it is the heart and soul of our country’s future. As public educators, we have made a promise to ensure ALL students succeed. To fulfill this promise – to create a reality where our schools support all students and shape a just society – we must begin doing uncommon things uncommonly well. Doing common things, even when done uncommonly well, is no longer sufficient. Creating a new reality requires new ways of thinking, acting, and learning. It requires innovation.

In the Imaginarium, we do not waste the opportunity before us on the limitations of our imaginations or our fear of failure. We empower students, teachers, leaders, community stakeholders and staff to design and launch innovative schools, learning experiences, products and services, and education policies and systems. The core principles of human centered design merged with best practices in research, strategic planning, and cultural proficiency is our unique approach to empowering community and school driven innovation. This approach is known as the Imaginarium way.

Through improvement science, we study and share the impact of innovations on student success across DPS and the nation to fuel ongoing innovation. We support people who dare to explore creative solutions to challenging problems and see opportunities where others see walls.
